FAUX SWEETS
Fake Food Art

About
FAUX SWEETS is a Los Angeles-based studio specializing in handcrafted fake desserts and food-inspired décor for the home, events, and displays. Founded by Mae, a former banker turned creative baker, FAUX SWEETS began as a cupcake shop on Etsy in 2017 and has since grown into a celebrated name in the world of decorative art. Mae draws inspiration from Japan’s rich fake food culture and the elegant pastry boutiques of France, where sweets are displayed like glittering jewels—too beautiful to eat. Guided by her natural craft instincts, she immersed herself in the art of food mimicry, combining charm, realism, and whimsy in every piece.
FAUX SWEETS quickly gained recognition, earning the “Rising Star” Award at the 2017 Harvest Festival and creating a 128-piece collection for London’s CURIOUS agency at the renowned SWAN at Shakespeare’s Globe. The brand has also collaborated with J.Crew, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, and West Elm, and was featured on BuzzFeed Tasty for its whimsical fake Alphabet Cake tutorial. Today, FAUX SWEETS continues to craft delightful confections—entirely inedible and endlessly enjoyable. Step into our world of guilt-free indulgence and playful imagination.
