A MESSAGE from MAE
Fake food craft has traditionally been a secretive community.
It took me years to learn the techniques on my own, and
I created Faux Sweets Academy to make that knowledge more accessible.
This Master Course focuses on teaching the foundations of the craft,
so students can build skills with confidence. My hope is that each student blossoms into a skilled hobbyist, an entrepreneur, and above all, an artist.

MAE HIROTA
Hi I'm Mae! Founder and Designer of FAUX SWEETS, a Los Angeles-based studio where I create handcrafted fake desserts and decorative food art. After leaving my career in banking, I followed my passion for creativity—drawing inspiration from Japanese fake food culture and the elegance of French pâtisseries.
My goal is to capture the beauty of sweets in a playful,
guilt-free way that brings joy to any space.
